FAQs

Where will we ring in the new year?

Our outdoor reception will end at 10:30pm due to Jekyll Island's noise ordinance. Join us immediately following for our first annual Scoves' New Year's Eve Party.

Are children allowed?

While we love your little ones, our ceremony and reception will be adults-only, with the exception of our nieces who are in the wedding. Kids are welcome at other events throughout the 'weekend'. We have a list of recommended babysitters on the Island to help the trip run smoothly!

What is the dress code?

Black Tie Attire. It is New Year's Eve – it's your night to also look fabulous! Ladies should wear gowns or elegant dresses. Gents should wear full tuxedos or a sophisticated dark suit. Please refrain from wearing silver and gold sequins and colors that are traditionally reserved for the bride (white, ivory, cream).

What is the weather like on the Island in December?

Historically, the weather around this time of year is dry with high temps in the 60's and 70's, lows in the 50's. But it's Georgia! The weather can vary – the wedding is outside, so pack a jacket/wrap to be safe.

What day should I arrive?

We appreciate you joining us during the holiday season! The Bride and Groom are arriving on the island Dec 29th to start the fun. There will be events as early as Sunday evening – feel free to join us as soon as you are able!

WHAT FOOTBALL TEAMS ARE WE CHEERING FOR?

This is a Bengals and Georgia household. Please plan accordingly.

ARE THERE ALLIGATORS?

Yes. Golfers keep an eye out.
